Exclamation driver side window dipping quit working.. also window drops down 50% when raised full

Hi -- 2 weeks ago picked up a 2008 cooper s.... sweet little car. Two days ago the driver side window dipping quit working. Also when i raise the driver side window all the way up it lowers down 50% automatically. I guess this is a child safety feature or something... but it doesnt do this on the passenger side.

Now i have to leave a gap in the window as i cant raise it all the way up (as soon as i do it goes down 50%... very annoying).

I tried the R53 window reset trick (start mini, open door, raise window all the way up, hold switch up for 10 secs. Doesnt work for me because the window keeps coming down when i reach the top....

does anyone know the window reset method for 2007+ minis? or at least how to turn off the child safety feature which lowers the window 50% down?

Closest dealer 2 hours away....

sounds like you have a window regulator failure and the overide featue is activating due to it

I just recently got a used 2008 and the only thing wrong was the passenger side window didn't dip and the window would randomly roll down at times.

The dealer said it was a reprogramming issue.
I took it to them and within a couple of hours it was working correctly.

I tried the reset thing (holding switch, etc) and it didn't work for me either.
