Default Driverside Doorlatch

Hi All,

I have a 2004 cooper and was just wondering is someone is able to eloborate on the mechanics envolved when you pull the inside door latch (once to unlock, 2nd opens the door).

Over the past month this has been troublesome, sometimes didn't popup the lock as well as didn't open the door sometimes. Now it doesn't do either, so I have to roll down the window to get myself out

Could this be due to a cable coming loose or is it completely electronic? I'm guessing there is some sort of bar/cable because before it stopped I could see it moving up trying to unlock...

Is this a tough fix? Just some tightening?

Thanks in advance!

This will get the panel off I've not had any troubles so I'd say inspect the linkage and lube things up
