Question i need some info please...

hello!

so im looking into buying a used 2003 mini cooper, but i dont know much about the cars themselves.

i was wondering if anyone could tell me any specifics about minis, such as special coolant im supposed to use, special oil, preferred gas type, etc. my family and i are volkswagen owners for the most part, so im used to being told what fluids are best and what not to put in a car, but no one in my family can answer my questions. i figured maybe asking in a forum would be helpful.

thanks!

with the long oil change interval 15k Synthetic oil is a MUST ... I don't like that long of interval and change out at 5K ...

My S demands Premium only fuel not sure on the regular mini ...

Mini sells coolant but I've run regular antifreeze

Hey Sarahcamp, I just picked mine up about 3 weeks ago and love it!!! If you get the S, go premium fuel, I've been told so, and it does make a difference. The only other fluid I would be concerned with, like bad venge said, is a good synthetic motor oil.

Yea the mini cooper is a fun and great car i have a 2002 mini cooper coolant fluids it dosent matter what trans fluids you can only get from the dealer. Engine oil castrol synthetic oil and use no less the 91 octane and you have no problems with your car. I run 93 octane in mine cause i have upgraded ignition coil pack bigger wires and a lighter fly wheel and a stage 3 clutch and a short throw shifter so my car gets up and goes now. I havent head any major problems with my car and im turboing it soon so ill have pics up soon too. If you have any Q's on your mini ill be more willing to help you out. I know the mini pritty much head to toe well happy motoring be safe.
