Stick shift lost it's spring?

hi,

Just wondering what could be wrong with my stick shift. I no longer bounces back to the middle and I really have to direct it when changing gears.

Is the stick controlled by cables or bearings? or Both?

Can parts be ordered and be replaced outside of the dealership?
