Default suggestions for catback and intake

fellas - i have an 03 non S cooper. had it since new. want modest gains.
considering catback and intake. not so interested in changing the ECU, but open to that as well.

any suggestions for catback and intake? I do not want a very loud system; for example the exhaust tone of the inifniti G35 is pretty nice.

thanks!

The factory JCW exhaust is a nice gain and not loud

Same goes for intake

The overdrive pulley will be a better increase

OK - I didnt realize the JCW could be outfitted for the non S.
Is this only available out of a Mini Service Dept?
Approximate cost?

forgive my ignorance, but what is the over ride pulley, and is that
part of the JCW exh/intake, or I would ask specifically for that to be replaced?

thank you!

what do you think of this "stage 1"
and do you have an idea of how much
hp gain this would be , like 10-20hp?

I have a 2003 non S, I put an OBX-Racing catback system on mine last year and I love it! Sounds great, not too loud.

JonD91 what intake do you have on it?
In regards to emissions, it sounds like although this is a 'racing' catback system it is street legal and should not alter emissions testing. the car will be driven in Massachusetts.
thanks.

I have an aluminum short ram intake, no brand eBay thing since it was only $40. Don't worry about the street legal as far as Racing goes, that's just the company name. It just increases the pipes to 2.5" behind the cat and deletes the resignater for a better sound. My car is a daily driver in Maine so you shouldn't have any legal issues, I haven't yet and I go to Mass a few times a year.

BTW the OBX-R system was about $165 shipped, eBay intake was $40 shipped, so it was ~$200 for both, way cheaper that getting the big name pipes that do the same job

It not only increases the pipe 2.5 "cat back and removed to give a better sound. My car is a daily driver in Maine so you should not have legal problems, I have to go to church several times a year.
