Default Need Tire Guidance

I own a 2003 Cooper S JCW with 29,500 miles on it. Nearing time for 3rd set of tires and looking for best compromise of ride, handling, cost. Have had two sets of Pirelli eufori@ Run Flats - and hate the ride compromise on So. California highways (convinced that these tires will, in time, shake the car apart).

Questions:
1. Are 'run flats' the better way to go? (Do I have a choice?)
2. If it is to be the run flats, what tires offer a better ride/handling compromise than the euforias?
3. Are there other "tricks" to improving the ride without sacrificing handling?

Look forward to your guidance. Thanks.

1) you can buy regular tires , they are cheaper and IMO ride better and last longer I run toyo proxes
2) I had better luck with the kuhmo run flats
3) lighter wheels

Thanks bad venge. Good advice. Will probably go for the Toyos. It sounds as if they'll make the back road twisties a bit more fun, too! Checking prices now.

Default Just fitted

After reading a bunch of forums, I ended up with Hankook V12's replacing Pirelli's. The Hankook are a lot quieter & smoother, I can enjoy the stereo again !! Great grip & a very good price.

My original Dunlop run flats lasted about 20,000 miles. Replaced them with Kumho run flats, and after about 13,000 mile they show very little signs of wear. And they are much quieter.

Default Thanks

Thanks Guys,

Like flamingvictory, I ended up buying the Kumho Ecsta SPT runflats. Huge improvement from the Pirelli's. Thanks for all your input.
