Default amp

okay so this is back to my amp problem, i hooked up an 250 watt amp and a week later the battery died, i had the battery and alternator checked by a pro and they said everything was good, i checked to see if the remote wire was working and im almost a hundred percent sure it is. first off is the 12v wire for the amp supposed to be conected directly to the battery? and if the amp is off is it still drawing enough power to drain the battery? and would it be helpful if i hooked a toggle switch to the 12v wire? any help would be great

YES main power should be direct to battery thru a fuse.
Are you sure the amp is killing the battery?
I'd try removing the fuse from the amp and see if that stops the power drain
