Default Tips on how to get tree sap off bonnet strips?

Wow, looks like you guys aren't in to detailing much... but I'll give this a shot. Girlfriend took my Clubman up to Big Bear for a weekend trip and came back with what I think is tree sap all over the silver bonnet strips. I have tried all my usual tricks but have had zero luck getting it to come off. I am hoping I don't have to replace them but nothing has seemed to work yet. I imagine I am not the first guy to have this happen so who knows how to fix it?

A little dark, but to give you guys an idea. The line across the bottom where it is still clean is under the clear rock chip protector stuff.

I'll try to get better ones in the morning.
