I can't speak of these exact products, but carbon fiber items in general really serve no purpose with the exception of being light weight and stylish.

Uh, isn't that kind of the point?
I don't have any VIS on a mini, but in my past experiences: they make a great product but as with any CF, the clear will eventually soak into the weave. May have to have it recleared every few years. Otherwise, great fitment.
