Default "Awesome" gas mileage!!!

I am getting 12.9 mpg on average in the city in my manual tranny 2006 S. Now, admittedly, I keep my rpms around 3k, and downshift hard instead of braking whenever possible (which is often), but come on now! I drove the same way in my M3, which had an I6 with literally twice the displacement of my engine and 143% the horsepower/torque, and still got around 14.5 mpg.

Anyone else experience this? [&:]

Air filter, fuel filter, oil change, oil filter, spark plugs etc etc. If you haven't been taking care of the car, the car won't take care of you.

All service is up-to-date, and the car has less than 15,000 miles on it. I only use top-tier gasoline as well (93 octane Shell V-Power).

Ummmm if you live the city your MPG is worse. All that stop and go traffic has a little something to do with it.

I usually get 32 MPG in town.

Ummmm, I am quite aware of that. The fact remains, however, that you get 32 MPG in town, and I get thirteen. My car is rated for twenty.

I'd take it in...when is the last time you got an oil change? Make sure there isn't any thing leaking in there....

Well, it's strange. The car only has 15,500 miles on it. I got the oil change whenever the first service was... nine thousand miles, maybe? I forget. I guess I will take it to these goons and have them check it out. And of course, they will make me wait two hours while they do it...

Something must be wrong, unless you are in constant road race mode. I have seen S's driven fairly hard and get over 20. Don't trust your computer stated mileage. What do you get on the highway, out of town?

I drive my MINI like i stole it!! I have a 2007 S and consistently get 30mpg and 400+miles per tank. I think you have an issue with your car, man. I hope you get it figured out, i would hate for you to not enjoy your MINI experience.

I agree with Micakp..... Our 07 S get at the low end 26 and at the high end 32.
We do drive the hell out of it on a good road. The damn little thing got me a good size ticket
2 weeks ago. See, I am blaming the Mini!!!!! It was me not the car........
