looking to get my first mini
hey everyone, i am currently driving a 2004 nissan frontier which i have had for a couple of years now, i got at a time when i was doing a lot of contract work and was wanting to use it to carry tools and ladders etc to do bigger better jobs,
well a year into owning i got a great full time job and now i don't need the truck but i am not ready to fully get rid of it, just want something that's better on gas which is what brought me here
looking at different cars i have come across a couple of mini's both of them are 5spd and one is a S, but i need to know how reliable are these cars, are they expensive to work on? (i do all the work on my truck myself so working on a mini wouldn't be to hard for me)
what kinds of things should i look out for? any advice would be awesome

Reliability depends on a lot of factors: records of maintenance, year, if the S means supercharger or turbo.
I went with my 2011 because my research said it was fairly good to go.
As for working on it and expense, it is pricey to have work done to it and will be significantly different then working on your Frontier (small, German vs large, Japanese).
That being said, reliability is a huge point of interest and many Mini sites have dealt with it. I personally did a lot of research on Reddit.com/r/mini where there is a great FAQ section on reliability.
Hope that helps.
