Which would you buy?
A 2007 Mini or a 2006 Mini S? I'm considering buying one but I can't decide which is better. Does the year difference bring in better performance (besides the 10% mpg boost)? I won't be going to the dealer until Friday to get a test drive on each but I'm hoping for some advice until then. Here's what I have to go on:
-Both same price.
-Both used with 57K miles.
-Both have the main feature that I look for in a car - sunroof (both are panoramic).
-Both have same basic features: power locks, side airbags, cruise control, etc.
Where they differ:
-The 2007 has a nice boost to MPG, which isn't bad at all.
-The 2006 has a more modern-ish feel to the interior and comes with an aux input, which I'd have to put on the 2007 eventually.
-The 2006 is manual, which I'd have to learn to drive.
-The 2006 is the perfect color, which saves me a paintjob that the 2007 would eventually need to get.
As you see, the pros and cons balance out pretty evenly. I know the last deciding factor will be when I sit in each one (thankfully they're both at the same dealer so I can put them side by side) but it would be great if I can get some input from those that may have these particular models. Also, it would be great to get some advice on how to check if the car was well-taken care of when it comes to the engine and type of gas used. Would I be able to see any obvious rusting or other signs of the previous owner not using premium or mid-grade gas?
