Hi, newbie here. My significant other has an 05 base mini, standard trans, 130k. She recently had a pre-cat 02 sensor replaced at the dealership. Engine light came some time afterwards and we took the car to my private shop guys (trust them, good peeps); codes read after-cat 02 sensor issue and it was replaced (with the exact same sensor - I checked that myself). They also verified that the pre-cat sensor was fine. Engine light, however, did not go off. My guys suggested visiting the dealership to receive a computer update / clear adaptations, which they believed should solve the problem. She made an apt and the Mini dealership said the problem was a bad pre-cat sensor (contradicting what my guys told us - I don't trust the dealership). Mini replaced the sensor and surprise, the engine light did NOT go off. The dealership wouldn't, however, clear the adaptations, rather, suggested she replace the plugs, wires and half the car's parts prior to clearing the adaptations... Any insight... ? : / Thank you.
