Default best size rims for winter

The mini I am looking at has 205/45/17 tires, for the winter I was thinking of going to 15 rims. 185/65-15 is the package I am considering. I live in Vermont and am used to driving in the snow. I actually prefer my small front wheel drive car (currently a Mazda Protege) to my pick-up trucks.
