I am a newbie..researched and research and bought my wife (bought me) a new Clubman. First day was a dream. The next morning a nightmare! Car would not open via the magic door. Every warning light imaginable was lit...warning! warning! it scream. Dealer was very good. Worldwide Mini assistance towed it after 64 miles!!! The everseeing computer hoopup revealed the problem after all mechanics and dealer said it "never happened before." In the junction box where the 5 (?) computers meet up, there was a defective cable. 200 miles later it appears that they were correct and all is well in the Mini Universe.

Thats a strange one ... could you open with the key ???

 

the car only would open with the secret key. Also, the windsheild wipers and power windows had no juice/no life...

 

I was wondering if the keyless didn't have enough time to "charge" yet causing it to not work , but sounds like you had other issues as well
