Thermostat and reservoir question

Thermostat and reservoir question
Good day - I am looking to see if anyone has the shop manual for their Mini Cooper. Would it be possible to find out the temperature where the Mini's thermostat starts to open and the temperature where it's fully open?
Also, is it normal that the coolant reservoir is empty when the engine is cold?
Thanks!

RE: Thermostat and reservoir question
I have heard that the only place to get the manual is from Europe.
As far as the coolant resevoir level goes, at least in my 2008 MCS JCW, it is always at the minimum mark, which is fine. They leave room in this resevoir for expansion, and the max fill line seems to be right at the seem. I would not overfill this resevoir if I were you.
When you ask where is the coolant going, what do you mean exactly? I mean, are you filling it up to some other level, and noticing that it keeps leveling off at the minimum level every time afterwards? IF so, I have no idea where it is going, but I would think that since this is a closed pressurized system,if there is too much pressure due to overfilling, it has to go somewhere outside of the closed pressurized system.
Any coolant puddles on the ground at your house? Or maybe lots of dead neighborhood pets/animalsaround your house all the time because they are licking it up before you notice it? I know, not funny, but heh.
