Default Transmission vs transmission

Looking to purchase a Cooper S for my wife and daughter to share. Have a couple 2005 automatic models available that look good, but two are in the 40 -50K mileage range while the other is at 70K mi, but with a new transmission. Exterior/interiors are comparable. Curious as to what others think would be the best to purchase? (I know, a Mini deserves a manual, but it's not for me).

do NOT buy one with a cvt. best advise i can give you. if its had a new tranny, put in by a dealer...it may not be a bad buy. high mileage minis = trouble $$$$$$
