Unhappy 2004 MC wacky auto tranny

My 84yr old mother drives an automatic 2004 MC (she has to sit on a pillow to see over the dash). When driving between 50-70 in normal drive, letting off the gas automatically drops the transmision into a lower gear. Hitting gas, it goes back up a gear. Very disturbing. Advice, please!

many have had similar issues , there appears to be a computer reflash that takes care of it for most. Others had tranny issues
