Default Gas Mileage

Getting close to purchasing a new Mini...need to decide on a color. There's two on the lot I like.Sparkling Silver Metallic with black top ( which seems to be a discontinued color), also one with British Racing Green with black top and wheels that looks awesome. decisions decisions....

I'd like to get an idea of what kind of gas mileage everyone gets, and include how you drive and what your daily commute is like. I'd be thrilled with averaging 32-35 mpg !!

Thanks !!

Hello! Welcome aboard! I have about an hour commute to work every day. It is mostly highway but after a certain point it becomes city streets with stop lights. I fill my tank every 2 weeks about and that is JUST for work. I get a pretty good mileage of around 25 highway and 20+ city. On the highway i generally coast and try not to ride the break to much - and I am a quick driver.

details, details, details. It all depends on the model and extras you put on your car. also what kind/style of driving you are doing. Odds are, if its anything other than a standard mini you wont get much more than 30 mpg combined avg. especially in heavy traffic. (I define heavy as LA rush hour on the 405)

Default mileage

Yes, I did leave out a detail...sorry about that, I purchased the Sparkling Silver Mini Hardtop. Picked it up Monday night, right now the computer says I'm averaging 26mpg....but I've only driven 150 miles at most. It is a 6 speed manual. I am a pretty conservative driver and am hoping for a 32-35 mpg average. After a few fill ups and figuring it myself I will report back.

Enjoying the car so far !! Taking it in Tomorrow morning to get my stripes put on !!

Default Gas mileage

I'm getting 32.6 mpg currently. I have a 2011 base hardtop, manual trans.

As I get more adept at driving a stick, the gas mileage has been steadily improving. Daily commute varies a little in the range of 75 - 150 miles per day, the majority of which is highway.

A family member has a 2008 base hardtop, also manual trans and says he's getting 37 mpg. How he's doing this, I have no idea. If I find out the secret, I'll share with MCF folks!

Congratulations on your new MINI! Enjoy!!

I filled up for the first time after topping off my tank the third day I had the car. I have an app on my phone that I can track MPG. My first tank I got 36.1 mpg. I was thrilled !!
