I almost got a mini

Hi New here and really just looking for information.

Last July I wanted a mini and made a few phone calls and did some checking on the web.
I am 54 years old my wife is 10 years older than I am and not into the car thing LOL.
I was driving a 2010 Prius that I bought for my wife and she decided she did not like I was tired of not having fun behind the wheel after a year and wanted to trade it in for a fun car.
After a little research it seemed that the mini although a lot of fun may be a bit impractical and the kicker I kept hearing that it was not good in the snow. I live in New England and I need a car that can handle the snow.
I ended up getting a 2011 Honda Civic SI and it is an awesome car, but I still drool a bit when I see a mini
The SI is fast and fun to drive and very practical, but did I make the right choice?
I have never driven one and I hear they are a rougher ride and noisy is this true?
I was also concerned that there were no dealers near me, closets was int her Boston area 45 minutes or more away.

Kinda in the same boat as you. Last year was shopping for a hot hatch and ended up with an SVT Focus. I still love the Cooper S and plan on having on at some point. The ride is firm, but I wouldn't call it rough. Noise wasn't any different than other cars in the segment.

All that matters is that you're happy with the Si. If you weren't, you wouldn't have bought it in the first place.
