iphone 4g problem

I have a 2011 Mini Cooper S. I set up my iphone 4G and the bluetooth works as advertised. However when I shut the car off and start back up it will not re-acquire the iphone and tells me to set it up again. The iphone bluetooth works fine with my 2008 Lexus and re-acquires when the car is turned off and started up again. Has anyone else had this problem? My local Mini dealer does not seem to know what to do and thinks it is the phone.
