Default Need some info & opinions

First off, I would like to say hello to everyone as this is my first post on these forums. This isn't the only online forum I am apart of, so I know the rules and what I expected of me. Second, I am in need of some info on the 05/06 MINI Cooper S. I have been interested in the S models for quite some time now, but, as I have learned about cars, they all have their pros and cons. The MINI I am looking at getting is a 05 Cooper S automatic w/ paddle shifters. The info I am looking for is the reliability of the car, any known problems, and how repair costs compare to, let's say a Honda Civic. Also looking for any ways the MINI has to be treated differently as compared to an average car (does it require premium fuel, I read something on the tires need rotated every 3000 miles instead of 10000, etc.) Any and all response are appreciated. Opinions of the 05/06 Cooper S is also appreciated. I hope to be able to get the car and be active on these forums!

I hope someone has more information. I am also thinking about getting an 04/05 S model. A couple things to add to his post though. How comfortable is the car? I'm only 5' 11" but having never sat in one it looks like there isn't much room. Also how do repair/alignment costs compair to a bmw?

Premium ONLY on the S you can run regular but performance is terrible as it retards tiing ect to prevent detonation

The Automatic tranny is PRICEY to repair

Mini recomends 15K oi lchanges (I change at 5K)

Runflat tires are very pricey to replace

Well, the 2005 Mini is mine! I am loving the car so far. Enough pep to keep me happy and good enough MPG to keep my wallet happy, even with the premium gas. I am having some hard shifts though. It only happens when the car has warmed up. I was thinking trans fluid needs flushed, but, from what I have read, the trans fluid never needs to be replaced. Any ideas?
