Default Removing scratches from side fender

I slightly rubbed onto a wall which had yellow paint, now my passenger back side fender (the black plastic fender going around the wheel) has some minor scratches, nothing bad but I was curious to know if there is a way to remove these. I thought maybe with some sort of a very very smooth sand wet sand paper...

Anyone got any ideas? I'll post pictures as soon as I take some.
