Life after Run Flats

Life after Run Flats
Hello,
Reading back through the posts I see there are lots of owners who were deciding to ditch their run flats and go with a standard tire and NO spare.
After just 19k miles (2013 CooperS) I have worn the OEM ContiPro Contact on my fronts down to the wear bars. So I am at that decision point.
What I was hoping is that those of you who switched to NON run flats and have driven that way for a year or more, might share your experience with us.
Are you still pleased with the ride performance (what tire did you go with)?
Have you had to deal with any punctures/flats ?
Would love to know about "Life after run flats!"

Happy as a pig in..... Well you know the rest. We switched from run flats to the Bridgestone Turanza and am so glad we did. We had about 3' of snow a couple weeks ago and the Mini went right thru it. With the runflats, a dusting kept it from moving. the ride is also so much better.
