Default Time to change the brakes -

My 2006 mini sat for a few weeks while I looked for the best deal on a back glass, another story for anothe day. After sitting so long, with the parking brake on I guess, it looks and sounds like the left rear brake is grinding, draging, and for the most part, just worn out.

Before I start taking things apart, has anybody been there, done that, and would have done it this way... had they only known?

I ask this only because I once took the complete dash out of an '87 saab 9000 - only to learn you get at the heater core from the other side of the fire wall. Which was a 20 min. job, after I spent 6 hours putting the dash back.

Any comments and/or ideas would be most welcome.
