2008 Mini Cooper Sidewalk... a future classic?
Hello everyone,
I am a proud owner of a 2008 Mini Cooper Sidewalk Edition (automatic, 120K miles), I purchased my Mini in June 2015 it is my first car and I really like it, unfortunately my relatives are kind of worried for my safety with my Mini and since I recently got promoted think I should buy a bigger car.
The reasons I don't want to let go my Mini is because, first I love it, second it cost me only $6K cash and I have seen many others in Autotrader going for as much as $20K
, I have hopes that this car might be a classic in a decade or so, since it was only make 2007 - 2008, and every time I have the top down I get compliments even from my Ferrari owner's friends
and third, I live in Orlando and I have only seen other 2 Sidewalks in the street since I bought mine
My car is not in its best condition, I have to replace the top and do so minor maintenance in the engine, I think all together is around $2K, so not too bad I think...
I was wondering what is y'alls opinion, do you think this car can become a classic in some decades? I was also thinking in buying a weekday car and keeping my Mini for the weekends, which can be kind of costly (insurance
) and since I am still in my mid 20's kind of unnecessary...
Please let me know your kind thoughts about this edition, all of your comments are greatly appreciated.

Sidewalk Edition is not something you see too often. Of course, the hardtop will be more safe than a convertible, but having the roll over bars will make it as safe as it can be. If you like the car and don't want to sell it, then don't. I can see the Sidewalk Editions being a bit more rare as time goes on.
