r57 2013 S convertible with nav - where are the gauges?

I just acquired yesterday a 2013 s convertible manual transmission with the nav package to replace my beloved 06 S convertible that went to the big junkyard in the sky, declared a total by my insurance co.

Anyway, I've been reading the manual and I find that there is one completely worthless gauge (time top is down) and nothing to tell me if the thing is starting to overheat. There is supposed to be a light somewhere if it actually does overheat, but the manual fails to tell me where that might be. Also, there is no way to tell if the alternator is malfunctioning, until the car dies.

It used to be that when you switched on the key without starting, all the idiot lights would light up, but that no longer seems to the be case.

Is this for real? Tell me I just haven't found it yet.

Z.
