'07 Mini Cooper S - Engine Blew
My '07 Cooper Sport model blew its engine 3 weeks ago at 33,000 miles. Thank goodness it was still under warranty. My dealer gave me a loaner for the last few weeks, and the dealer replaced the engine without charge.
This is my second Mini. My first was an '03 base model. I traded up to the sport model in '07 and really love it.
I am now thinking of buying an extended warranty/extended maintenance package. Anyone had experience with those?

Read the FINE PRINT very carefully ... some very widely in what is covered ...
Of course the MINI extended will be better but much more expensive ...
Some only cover internal parts , and won't cover clutches , brakes ... Othes will cover any moving parts ... Also check if you can take it to ANY shop or just the "approved" shops
Also beware of "Limits of coverage" some have fine print that will stop covering if te vehicle has had claims totaling $X,XXX ... Meaning if the tranny/engine goes out the repair may exceed the value covered
