we bought a 09 S hard top three weeks ago, had a few cosmetic issues that needed service, was loaned a convertible (non S). the rag top non S runs ok, nothing like the S at all, and it feels very heavy after driving the hard top. search results found non S = 24lbs/hp, the S = 15.1lbs/hp...no wonder the non S felt different. going through the break in period we are averaging 29.6 in mixed driving.

so is my odometer broke or what?!?
i looked at the mpg display and it was showing 66mpg-99.99 mpg?
i hope i'm not running on empty.
The mini fuel gauge is wacky, the first 2 or 3 lights for the first half tank, and you better start looking for fuel when you get down to the last 2 or 3 cause they go by quickly!

I have a 2008 MINI S and have never reset the MPG guage. I have over 15,000 miles and have averaged 34.3 MPG! This is higher than the highway MPG on the sticker. I have also gotten about 600 miles on a tank and when filling it up it took about 14 gallons.

I've got an 03 S, and I am averaging around 30mpg, city usage. The supercharger inherently will shove more fuel/air in the engine, so it's expected.
