Default 2010 JCW Engine Light

Hi, new to the forum and to Mini. Bought a 2010 Mini JCW a little over a week ago. Has a few mods including lowering springs, Alta sway bar, Alta intake, Alta full turbo back exhaust, aftermarket rims, and apparently a tune.

My issue started on Sunday. I replaced the sway bar bushings because of a clunk from the rear suspension. Later that day the Orange engine light came on along with the Cruise Control System Failure light. Engine has decreased power. Later on that night, the Engine light didnt come on after starting the car, but i got a warning light for external light system failure and when i checked it was the upper fog light bulb. So today the Orange engine light and cruise control system failure light is back all day after multiple starts and drives and the fog light bulb is working. Tonight i start the car and no engine light but the external light system failure light is back on and the fog light bulb isnt working. I feel the two different failure lights are somehow related since they are seeming to alternate and arent on at the same time. Any advice?

Seems as if you went into limp mode. Did you plug into the OBDII and pull the fault code that is being thrown? This P code will help us figure out what may be going on with your MINI.

Tryed 3 different OBD11 readers and all said no code. Last one a mechanic tried and said I either need to take it to Mini/BMW dealer or go to a shop that has one of the really good Snap-on machines with BMW software that can read BMW manufacturer codes.

Yes, most generic code readers cannot manufacturer-level fault codes. If you want to purchase a really good BMW/MINI diagnostic reader we have this one here: 2010 Mini Cooper JCW Hatchback - Tools - Page 8. Otherwise, a cheaper alternative would be to try the Carly App: Carly for BMW - The Most Powerful BMW App Solution.
