2011 Cooper S - Obnoxious stereo
 

Hi all, new user here. Had this car for a few years and I cannot figure out how to rid my stereo of these obnoxious habits.

I always listen to auxiliary audio (podcasts, iPhone) and every time I start the car I have between 5-3 seconds I plug in my device before the input automatically switches to Tuner (really loudly! Due to the difference in sources).

I know what you are saying, " why don't you just plug in your device Before starting your car? Won't that fix everything"

Well, not quite. Regardless of when I plug it in, if I do not hit play on my device beforehand, it will play a random podcast or song that isn't of my choosing.

Can someone tell me how to lock the input and/or solve this random play issue?

It's not a real problem, but it's wildly annoying and something no other vehicle I've had does.
