2011 mini Cooper S bad intake valve

So I am looking at a 2011 mini Cooper S with 120k miles and a clean title for $1900, the owner claims it was running rough so they did a comp test and cyl#3 had 0 compression and with a boroscope they saw intake valve needed replacing.
It's a screaming deal but I know shops charge upwards of $2k+ for the job and my highschool auto shop needs projects anyway. I was wondering if I should just buy a reman (remanufactured) assembled head and swap it on instead of going through the trouble of replacing the one valve.

I'm not new to working on cars at all (have tons of experience with big block Ford's and Mazda 4 bangers) but I don't know much about this brand in general and their engines besides my dad had an early 2000's mini Cooper S when I was a kid and they are really fun cars. So any info on the engines would be helpful (I've been told failing valves is a common thing with these engines?)

Anyway just hoping for someone to advise me on my options here on how to go about fixing it, or just going ahead and getting a reman to just swap on, or just bail and not even take a second look at it
Thanks!
Will
