2015 MINI Cooper 3-Door: Japanese Characters?
 

Hi all,

I am a very happy owner of a 2015 MINI Cooper, been loving it for the year and a half I've owned her.

My only gripe whatsoever with my MINI so far has been regarding the stereo unit in the front: I have a lot of japanese music, and the stereo just plain doesn't display any song or album titles in japanese! It shows white hollow squares where the characters would be. This is somewhat annoying when I'm trying to pick a song or when somebody asks me the artist, especially since I sometimes play my music straight from a USB stick and I can't just look at my ipod screen to give them the song name (not to mention that's distracted driving :rolleyes:)

I was wondering if anyone else has found a solution for adding a new character set to the MINI's onboard computer, or if my dealership would be able to provide this. I'm sure they have character sets for different locales (MINIs are fairly popular in japan on account of them being a small and cute foreign car)
