2nd Class Action Lawsuit for timing chain/tensioner issue
#21
Count me in as well. I've had a similar problem with the car losing power while driving on a highway due to the timing chain. Car is in the repair shop right now with at least $5000 in engine damage. This is a 2010 hardtop with barely 35,000 miles on it.

I would also like to be included. I own a 2010 clubman. Purchased it in October 2014. Car had death rattle 2 years ago and tension chain had to be replaced. Identical thing happened again this past September. Second timing chain replaced along with a water pump, for a total cost of $2,600. Its only been 3 months and the death rattle has returned along with low oil light! Going back into dealership Monday morning.

Please add me as well
2008 mini cooper r56 base model. Had to replace TC assembly, but still got error message because the camshaft carrier was grooved. Can't buy the carrier separately...have to buy another head to get the one little part.

Please add me to the list, I have a 2010 w/ 74k miles, well maintained that's starting to make the "noise". I was unaware of the lawsuit back in 2016, mine was purchased in July of 2015 and the dealer did not inform me of this since I've owned the car. Is it still possible to go fall under the 2016 settlement?
Thanks

2008 Mini issues
Please include me too!
We just bought it from the dealership and was on our way home (45 miles away) only to get 42 miles and the engine light came on. P0012, P0302, P2187 all showing (base codes). My son needs the car to get to drill and back. It's not even safe to drive- it stalls all the time now and the dealership is not helping- they have to pay 50% per what they signed off on along with the extended warranty -might not cover it because it was just purchased. Have to hire a attorney just because we just bought it and Maryland doesn't have a Lemon Law for Used cars; however, it is covered under Federal law. . . SMH

Just found this thread. So mad right now. 68,000 and needed to pay $3,100+ for timing chain. Ridiculuous. Dumped so much into this car. Probably going to be first and last Mini I own. Wanted a John Cooper Works...forget about it.
Can anyone tell me if there is a 2nd class action lawsuit? I have a 2012 Countryman. Heard one was closed out to include up to 2010 vehicles. Sounds like 2012 are having troubles as well. Please let me know.

Hello,
I have a 2010 Clubman S and I was informed my car was not a part of the class action lawsuit. The timing chain had to be replaced and now there is a oil leak. We replaced the timing chain. I called corporate office and was informed my car did not make the list. Strange because it had the same issue as the cars that was on the list. We also have to put at least 1 liter of oil in the car monthly, the service department said it is because of the model and age of the car.
