AC blowing hot
Hello everyone,
i searched the forum a bit but did not find the answer i was looking for. I have a 2012 Countryman that is blowing crazy hot air out of ac system. i checked the fuse for the compressor with a multimeter and it was fine. i also heated the fuse and rechecked to ensure it wasnt breaking connection when heated. The air is blowing very well so its not a matter of the cabin filter being bad (i dont think). I purchased the A/C Pro 134a refrigerant kit and follwoed the instructions to a T. The issue is that when i attached the pressure gage portion of the kit to the low pressure port, the pressure indicator went into the red. I have heard from others that you can shoot a bit of coolant and the pressure will read correctly but i didnt want to chance just in case. Does anyone have any ideas on what i should do? Thank you so much in advance for all your help!!! chris |
Did you ever figure this problem out. I’m having the same exact symptoms and your the only person I’ve seen post about this issue

Having the low side in the red while the car is running and the AC turned on fill usually means 1 of 2 things. First is there's a blockage and the pressures have balanced betwenhi and low side. Second is the system is over pressured. In both cases, unless you have a way to recover the gas, you're looking at a visit to your local mechanic. If it's a blockage, it's most likely the orifice tube (not sure if the Mini uses that) or the expansion valve is toast.
