Aftermarket parts

does anybody know if aftermarket parts for older mini's will still fit an 08? I mean things like hoods, hatches, strut bars, etc.

most of what I can find is for 02-06. looks to be the same body style (but interior is different)

or if anyone knows where I can find some stuff for an 08, do tell.

any help is appreciated.

RE: Aftermarket parts

i don't think they will fit the 2nd generation minis.(07-08) the new hatch back is slightly bigger byabout 2.5 inches all around. Yes the interior is different but so is the exterior. The 07 and 08 convertables are still the same those get the change for 09. I'm in the same spot i'm waiting on at 08 hatch bcak and there isn't much out there right now. I saw all black convertable with these headlights http://www.migicar.com/02mcoopb.html
I can't find them for an 07 or 08 hatchback. Mine is coming in all black as well and really want to find them as soon as possible.

Lame... hopefully by the time the warranty runs out on the 08's, there will be decent aftermarket support.

Bring on the CF, I say!!

there is a mod called the joey mod. it is a diy project, n would take a some hours to do it. basically involves removing the entire headlight, then using a heat gun or your oven to get the glue plyable enough to remove the housing. then you basically paint the chrome bits to whatever color you want, and then put it back together. all for at the cost of... some spray paint, sand paper, painters tape and a few hours of your time. heard the mod is much easier to do than it sounds.

There is a large listing of aftermarket Mini Cooper parts sources on www.soopercooperinfo.com that may be of help for the second generation models.
