Airbag/seatbelt warning wont reset

Hi all

Im new to the forum as i recently bought a 2007 mini cooper s which i knew could or rather would have some issues most of which i have sorted ok but recently the airbag warning light came on when i hit a pothole after a chwck.on here i bought a seat belt bypass and seat occupancy sensor bypass and fitted no problem but when i took it to a local garage to.reset it wouldnt cancel them when we looked into it further both were working correctly so i was wondering if anyone else had had this issue and what they did to sort..... many thanks in advance

This might be the same issue I had on my BMW E46. I had the bypass and it still showed the airbag warning light. It ended up being the seat sensor under the leather/fabric in the seat. When someone sits in the seat the car activates the airbag. When no one is in the seat, its off, so that if there is an accident it dosent blow if no one is there. That is the way my E46 was and these cars have allot of BMW tech in them. Hope this might help.

Hi thanks for the reply.... it took a lot of messing but i finally worked out it was the tensior sensor amd the seat pad and an issue with the seat belt sensor... got there in the end though
