bluetooth/ipod retrofit

Just bought used 07 S, absolutely love it. It did not have bluetooth or ipod interface. Went to dealer to order the retrofit kit and was told that they had a bulletin that said the kit would not work in my car due to it's build date. The car was put in service in June of 07, so I would think that would be a build late in model year and don't understand dealers statement. Has anyone else run in to this. Other manufacterers kits that I see online do not have any warning of this issue and I am not comfortable ordering them.

Really want bluetooth integrated and would like ipod integration. HELP!!

The factory "kit" is supposedly around $1100.00 and the Motorola or Parrot type units are around $100.00. There are others for under that. What would be nice would be somehow adapting one of these so that it interacts with the steering wheel controls.

Same Need

I am looking for the exact same retro fit OEM solution for 2007 Mini Cooper S. I've been told the same by the dealer.

Any solutions?

Thanks - but Is there a OEM kit for 2007 Mini for bluetooth?

bad venge Apr 16, 2011 08:13 PM

But what you posted, isnt that for iPod only? (Im looking for bluetooth)

Unless you bought the bluetooth from factory dealer wants $3k to do that as mentioned I went with the parrot unit easy install and pairing ... ($100)
the other is the ipod unit that comes from the factory , as mentioned you will need to get the dealer to program, mine charged me 1/2 hour labor to program it in
