Default Cranks but won't start

Hello,

I have a 2008 mini cooper clubman S with 168,000 miles. While my wife was driving, the plastic pin for the clutch pedal master cylinder broke when she tried to shift so she pulled over and had it towed home. I thought the clutch throw-out bearing seized causing the plastic pin to break when she pushed the clutch pedal. I removed the slave cylinder from the bell housing to see if there were any pieces. Didn't see any. Replace plastic pin to see of I could start the engine. Depressed the clutch pedal and it cranks but won't start. Pulled spark plug to see if there was spark and there is. Checked tank fuel pump pressure- has70psi. I know it has compression because it was running fine until clutch problem. No codes on OBD2. Is there anything electronically that would prevent the engine from starting?

Really baffled with this one..

I'm new to this forum but since nobody else has reached out to you....Sounds like it should run.

Try some starting fluid into MAF and see if it hits at all....if it does then go back to where plastic pin broke and look for broken wires.

I recently had a vehicle that drove fine one day and next morning would crank but not start and when I opened hood to start troubleshooting found mice turds which helped me find broken wires, so just thinking that when pin broke maybe a wire was disconnected/broken.

Good Luck!!

Sounds like good advice. I'll give both a try and report back what I find.

Thanks

Might check compression/leak. If you have fuel, spark and air, the only thing left is timing.

I'm going to double check that the spark is good enough.
Thank you,
Tom

Tried using starter fluid and it wouldn't start. I'll double check that the spark is good enough.
Thanks,
Tom
