Default Shifting Issues -Jerky Accelaration

I have a 2010 Cooper Mini S with 6000 miles and I love the car. That said, I have the acceleration or the shifting or something related.

My issue: when accelerating from a slow roll, my car hesitates and then jerks forward. An common situation is:
- slowing for a light
- the light turn green when I am going a bit less than 5 miles per hour
- i hit the gas (in a normal way) and the car bogs and then jerks forward

The dealer says they can find nothing but the situation happened when I pulled out of the garage with the mechanic in the car. My wife has a 2010 Clubman S with 20K miles and it feels much better.

I would like to know if this is a problem with this type of car or unique to my car.

Hmm did the dealer try and re adapt the throttle body(valvetronic).Do any lights come on:check engine,TCS,and weird warning lights. Did they scan and find any codes on your car. What did the mechanic say when you showed him the problem? Any updates found for your car(ECM), and bulletins. I work on alot of minis, hope I gave you some ideas to ask them. And no this is not normal for your mini.

Smile Jerky Acc at light change

I Think it may have to do with the Gear you are in. Is your mini auto or stick? With the electronic gas pedal and the low rpm's you may be running in 2nd gear, the engine is just"catching back up" or gaining rpm's to move forward at normal conditions. I just bought an 08 cooper and have noticed this condition you speak of. If you can downshift sooner to get the rpm's back up, your cooper may not "hesitate" as much. hope this helps!

I notice that when I have the car in the normal "economy" and not the "sport" mode when I give a lot of throttle from low speeds. I got the same story from the dealer, no codes, "could not duplicate problem," etc. It hasn't gotten any worse, thankfully.
