I'm In A Real MESS - Starting Problems
Please don't ridicule me as this is my first post and a cry for help. I purchased a 2013 Mini Cooper as a garage project. I am an amateur mechanic but just fancied tinkering with a mini. The problem is that the engine was seized (the valve cover had melted so I suspect someone ran the car without coolant).
I didn't bother with the original engine, but just purchased a new N16 engine. The engine is now installed, starter connected, but I can't get the engine to even crank. There is a faint click when I press the starter button but that's it. Does anyone have any pointers or advice. Like I said, I just wanted a project and to have a bit of a play, so please don't criticise. Thanks for any assistance |
Clutch sensor
If you see a warning light to press the cluch even though you're mashing it when pushing the Start switch it might be a faulty clutch sensor. Or perchance just a flat battery. Good luck!
