Rear view mirror
 

My daughter once again dropped her 2009 Mini base convertible off for me to fix a few things. She has a CEL (separate post coming for that) and a rear view mirror issue.

yes, she has the droopy mirror problem, but that’s not the main issue. She claims the mirror simply “fell” from its mounting and is now dangling by the wire.

I watched a couple of videos and they all seem to indicate you simply hold the mirror up at 90 degrees to its normal position and rotate it into place. Except it’s not working. I snapped a couple of photos. It seems like something is missing that should be over the large hex but that I see. What am I doing wrong?

Okay, I got it.

I’m not saying this is what happened, but maybe, just maybe I was turning it the wrong way! 🤷🏻
