trans light came on then off then check engine
 

hi all -- so I've got a 2012 Mini Cooper S Clubman turbo, and the yellow gear warning light came on for a bit. Googling said that this was for the trans -- which is automatic, and typically indicates low fluid. but it seems like the fluid is "lifetime" and so no dipstick etc. I did check for leaks and see none. then after sitting for awhile, the gear warning light went off, only to be replaced but the standard Check engine. which also went off after some time. Any thoughts? thx as always this car is vexing!!

....and now the lights are off. I checked the code and there was a transmission code but it was not stored. no thoughts on this?
