Hi everyone, I'm new member. I just got my 08 Mini S last Friday. When I got my car, the dealer told me that I could use any kinds of gas, and he justsuggested that I should use premium one. Do you guys think I should use premium one or not? The premium one is quiet expensive in my town, it almost hit $4[:@]. Anyway, if I use the lowest one, will it hurt my car or broke the warrenty?

 

I don't know about the '08's, but in my '06, I don't save a thing by buying low octane gas. The car suffers appreciably in both performance and milage. Mini's have detonation sensors that retard the timing with low octane gas and make them run like crap until you burn it out. I would guess the new ones are the same way. I would stick with premium.

 

agreed. get the best gas you can. it may cost a little extra, but it is very worth it.
