What special tool for removing the variable valve timing springs
 

I’m replacing the valve stem seals on my 2009 mini Cooper R 56 with an N 12 engine. I have the tool to compress the springs to get the keepers out, but I didn’t realize I need to compress the variable valve springs on the intake side in order to remove the cam. I found a tool online on Amazon, but it says it only works on N 13 and up engine. I cannot find a specific N 12 tool. Will the N 13 tool work for compressing the springs on the intake side thanks
