2009 Mini Clubman Window Issues
 

Hi All,

My 09 clubman has a window issue. Was starting to be slow and then yesterday would go up about a quarter and then the motor would send it straight back down, like it was hitting something or the electrics were telling it to put it back down.

I was out on a drive at the time when this started happening so looked it up and there was tips to hold up the switch and give the door card a bang or two so I did. I then heard a bang which appeared to come from a mechanism dropping down into the door frame. Quite a bit of yellow lubricant then appeared on the window from the drop. The window is now up and not operational, note it also doesn't not do the drop up and down when opening/shutting the door letting in air which can be heard when above 50 mph.

I want to fix it myself and I intend to take the door card off at the weekend to have a look and whats gone on inside. However, can anyone give me some guidance on things to check out with reference to the above information.

Any guidance document or preferable youtube video would be great or anyone who has experienced the issue before.
