Default 2010 Clubman S Turbo - Limp Mode Reseting

So, in my limited time of owning this 2010 Clubman S Turbo, I have learned that "Limp Mode" means that the timing is off and needs to be repaired. Thus requiring a new timing chain and associated sprockets and chain shields. My question is this; once this repair has been performed, does the computer automatically know that the timing is good and take it out of limp mode? Or does the computer need to be reset?
