Can someone shed some light/explain why the updated 2010+ Clubman tail lights do not work with a 2009? I have a 2009 Clubman S and prefer the updated look of the 2010+ tail lights. According to all of my digging at this point, they do not fit but I don't understand as to why this is the case.

Any information shared would be greatly appreciated.
