r55 Throttle body

Seems to be a problem with the throttle body, replacement is on the way. My question has had their mits on a working throttle body and if they remember if the flap on the inside moved with a little pushing or should it be stiff so you cant move with your hand.....

thanks ahead for any info

You should be able to move the flap when you push on it. It shouldn't be super easy to move it, but you still should be able to open it. What lead you to believe it is a throttle body issue?

If you need help with install and removal we have an article here: MINI Cooper R56 Throttle Housing Replacement (2007-2011) | Pelican Parts DIY Maintenance Article. It's for the R56, but should still be helpful to you.

Thanks for the info, I was looking for confirmation about the flapper on the body, I snatched a throttle body out of a junk yard dogs mouth for about $72, installed all is well again, following codes plus a few more clued me in the issue.

P1631, P110D, plus the flapper would not budge at all, symptoms, car was running rough, no problem running, just rough like it was missing.

Breeze to take out and install, only issue was the stinking connecter on the bottom of the intake hose, went to harbor freight they had a set of long needle nose pliers, <$20, they did the trick....
