Starter will not disengage
 

HI all, searching for the answer to this one, has everyone stumped so please help!! 2008 mini clubman s required engine replacement after vacuum pump seized and the dominos fell back thru the engine. Replacement engine from mini installed. Car starts, but starter will not disengage without pulling the fuse. Tried a new starter with same results. Car runs fine, but fuse must be pulled to disengage starter. Verified correct wiring on starter. Verified condition of flywheel. Also, now the car will start without engaging the clutch. One thought is the starter switch itself. Plan on testing that out tomorrow. Thanks for looking.
